Babe's Story

Meet Babe!

This sweet, petite girl is around 4 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. She is still a bit underweight but her smaller size makes her a wonderful option for a family who is looking for a pocket-sized lab. Plus, as a more mature Lab, she has outgrown some of the challenges of younger dogs.

While she is crate trained, she can be trusted loose in the house when her family is not home. Babe is a very loving girl who craves the attention of her family. She is good with all ages!

Babe has been wonderful with the other dogs in her foster home. They seem to give her confidence and have helped her adjust and overcome some of her initial nervousness. While she has not been in a home with cats, she has a gentle nature and would probably do fine with a dog friendly cat.

Babe will jump out of excitement when greeting people. A little training will go a long way in teaching her better ways to say hello. Babe almost never barks unless she is scared of an unfamiliar noise. This has improved as she has become more comfortable in her foster home.

Babe would do best in a quiet home. She is gentle with kids, but quick movements and loud noises startle her so in order to give her the peace she deserves, we are looking for a more mellow household with adults or older kids.

Babe is not high energy, and she loves to sit and cuddle. Babe is eagerly waiting to have a family of her own and soak up all the love they have to give!

Babe will be available for adoption on, or after, December 26, 2025

If you are interested in Babe and are an approved adopter, please contact your Adoption Coordinator to be added to Babe’s list. If you are a not yet approved, you can find our adoption guidelines and application at: www.savealabrescue.org

Babe will be fostered in RI
