Axle's Story

My name is Axle. However, my foster parents lovingly call me "Nico." We feel like Axle might be a little too hard core for my personality. I am not hard core at all. I am about 7 to 8 months and 45 lbs. I was really skinny when I went into rescue. Now I am filling out like a champ! I am a smart but timid boy; at least timid at first. I absolutely love my dog friends and will be looking for one or two canine friends in my future forever home. I am not picky about size or gender. I benefit from watching, following and learning from them. They provide me with a little more confidence while I learn what the world is! Don't worry, I love my humans too when I get to know and trust them. My foster parents are very special to me! I don't have a mean bone in my hound/collie body. I could live with a patient family of humans that includes kids. 8+ would be ideal just because I can be a bit skittish around some loud noises; older kids might understand me a bit more! I have not been around cats in my foster home but we are pretty sure a cat would rule. I am housebroken and crate trained. I am relaxed when my humans have to leave for a bit. I am an easy guy to have around for a family that will let me take my time to settle in, learn the ropes and go at my own pace.
