Axel's Story

Hi, I'm still figuring out what my forever looks like—but I know I'd love if it included you!

I'm a young German Shepherd (not even two yet!) with the most handsome black and red coat and a pretty cool mask, if I do say so myself. I've already mastered the important stuff—I'm house trained, crate trained, walk fine on a leash and I get along great with both big and small dogs. I do well with kids and am well behaved in public. I jump right in the car and would love to go places with you! I'm also super food motivated (treats = instant best friend), eager to please, and I pick things up really quickly. And toys? I love them—whether it's a game of fetch or just carrying one around proudly, playtime is one of my favorite things.

My story hasn't been the easiest. I was adopted as a puppy, but somehow ended up back at the shelter as a stray. Things got pretty scary for a bit—I was even placed on the euthanasia list —but someone at this amazing rescue saw something special in me and gave me another chance.

And wow... I love being in a home. I love people, I love affection, and I'm just so happy to be safe again. I'm the kind of dog who will stick by your side, learn whatever you want to teach me, and remind you every day how much second chances matter.

All I'm missing now is my person. Could that be you?
