Avon Tyre's Story
Meet Avon

Avon is a 3–4 year old, ~40 lb Shepherd/Dachshund mix with a heart as big as her cuddle game.

She truly loves everyone she meets and is happiest snuggled right next to her people. Avon will happily crawl into your lap or settle beside you on the couch for quality time. She plays beautifully with her foster siblings, understands boundaries, and does not guard food or resources.

Avon is very responsive and comes when called no matter what she's doing — a wonderful trait that shows just how connected she is to her people. She is fully house trained and overall an incredibly easy dog to care for. She also has been good with kids.

When watching the world from her favorite recliner spot, Avon may give a low growl or bark if she sees an unfamiliar dog outside, but she responds immediately to verbal redirection and settles right away. With proper introductions, it only takes minutes for her to become friendly with new dogs.

She loves car rides and is always excited to tag along on adventures. Avon also enjoys walks, running, and playing with her foster siblings. She does have a weak back leg from an old injury, but it doesn't slow her down. If it gets sore, she simply tucks it up and scoots along — and it continues to grow stronger with regular activity.

At night, Avon prefers sleeping in bed with her people, where she can soak up every bit of love.

Bottom line: Avon is a people-loving, dog-friendly, affectionate companion who bonds quickly and deeply. She's the kind of dog who just wants to be wherever you are.

**Dog breeds listed are best guesses from veterinary professionals, they are never a guarantee.
