Aviva's Story

Aviva made us cry the second we met her. We had spent the day volunteering at our local intake shelter when before we left we saw something that happens everyday all over. This sweet girl was being tied to a trash can pole to fend for herself. She had no idea what was happening and we instantly walked over to go grab her. They didn't want to wait in line to surrender her and so instead they left her. We approached her and she instantly gave us a hug, no idea what was going on. We thought about her for days and within no time she was in our care.
Aviva is estimated to be around 2 years old. We don't know much about her past but we do know that her future will always be filled with love. She has some scars on her face that we can only imagine are from dog fight wounds around her mouth. She is being fostered with other dogs and we have noticed that she tends to do better with a dog that is more submissive or as an only dog. She is potty trained. She does well in her crate, she does get excited when she can see you though so a crate cover is best in those situations. She is good on the leash but sometime does pull out of excitement. She also just enjoys to be in your preference.
Aviva's adoption fee includes up to date preventatives and vaccines, she is spayed, heart worm negative, and microchipped. If you have any questions before applying to be considered for Aviva please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org. Aviva does have an open adoption radius however chosen adopter would have to travel to Chicago as we do not utilize transport options.
