MEET AVERY!<br/><br/>Breed: Purebred Maltese<br/>Date of Birth: November 8, 2025<br/><br/>This sweet little fella was purchased by a couple from Petland Novi for a pricetag of $5k but they soon realized that they were in over their heads with all of the puppy energy and responsibilities - puppies are a big commitment! In a state of feeling overwhelmed thebcouple made the heartbreaking decision to surrender in hopes of finding him the right family that would meet his needs.<br/><br/>Like all puppies, Avery will need a family who understands that raising a puppy takes time, patience, and commitment. He'll require:<br/><br/><br/> An active home that can keep up with his playful puppy energy<br/> Experience with house training and crate training (including the occasional sleepless night while he adjusts)<br/> Someone who is home more often than not in the beginning to help him learn good manners, socialize, and build confidence<br/> Regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best<br/><br/><br/>Avery is eager to grow alongside a family who will love him, guide him, and include him in their everyday adventures. If you're ready for the fun (and challenges!) of puppyhood and can provide him with the consistency he needs, Avery could be your perfect match. Avery is looking for a forever home filled with love, playfulness, and care. At a young and delicate age, pups should be monitored around young children and larger dogs. He is so small that he can be a tripping hazard. He may also not be a good fit for older canine friends due to his excitable puppy energy.<br/><br/>Avery will go home with his new family in foster-to-adopt status until his neuter surgery has been completed at 6 months (May 2026) of age at one of our partner Veterinary offices (Chesterfield, Clawson, Clinton Twp, or Rochester), which is included in the adoption fee and is non-negotiable.<br/><br/>Avery is:<br/><br/>Current on age appropriate vaccines <br/>Dewormed<br/>Receiving Heartworm and Flea/tick Prevention<br/>Microchipped<br/>Will be scheduled to be sterilized at our partner Veterinary office at 6 months of age (included in the adoption fee).<br/><br/>ADOPTION FEE: $500<br/><br/>IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.<br/><br/>While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.<br/><br/>FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
