Avery and Emmie - Bonded Puppies's Story
This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas or North Central Texas area.

NAME: Avery and Emmie
GENDER: Females (Spayed)
AGE: About 5 Months
WEIGHT: About 8.9 Pounds Each
DOGS/CATS: Get along with other small and medium dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: They love everyone and are great with children

Meet two adorable sisters, Avery and Emmie. Both of these girls are fun loving puppies. They both have outgoing personalities that fit in with everyone. These girls are very bonded and we are looking for a forever family who would like to add both to their home.

In Mid-November, we received a plea for help. There were 5 Chihuahua puppies who were dumped in a Dallas neighborhood. No Mom was with them. The Good Samaritans who found them kept them safe while they looked for owners. When no owners stepped forward, we agreed to bring them into our CRT foster program. Thank you to our sweet fosters who agreed to help foster puppies with the holidays coming! You have saved their lives. Avery and Emmie were two of these puppies who were saved that day. They are growing up in the same foster home and adore each other.

Both Avery and Emmie get along with the other small and medium sized dogs in their foster home. They enjoys playing with their foster siblings and they will initiate play. Avery and Emmie love to run and tumble and do zoomies. They enjoy going outside to play and explore. Their foster family has a large fenced in yard and they bolt around the yard with pure joy. You cannot help but smile when you see how much these two love to have fun. Avery and Emmie also love toys. Their favorites are the small plush squeaky toys.

Avery and Emmie both have great personalities. Avery is the more outgoing of the sisters and has a fear of missing out! She wants to be involved in everything all the time! They both enjoy meeting new people and they want to get love and attention. They are both huge cuddliers so if you love snuggling, these girls want to volunteer for the job. Avery and Emmie are at that perfect stage where the world is exciting and everyone is their friend! Avery and Emmie love to follow you around the house to see what you are working on. Whatever it is, they want to be a part of it. Note that they are very active and love to be right by your feet, so could be a tripping hazard! Avery and Emmie adore their family and we think you will adore them!

Avery and Emmie are super smart, are adventurous, have no fear and are very confident. They also have great manners. Avery and Emmie are puppies and are learning every day. They have learned to go outside to potty. They also use potty pads as a backup. At night they sleep in a dog bed inside a closed off area with each other. Due to their vaccination status, we have not begun to leash train them. We have recently completed vaccinations and will begin to teach them how to walk on a harness and leash.

Our vet believes that Avery and Emmie are about 5 months old (as of early February). They both weight about 8.9 pounds each, which is a great weight for them. Avery and Emmie both have stunning dark chocolate coats with a few patches of white. We love their ears. We have done a DNA test on them (thanks to a generous supporter who donated a DNA test). The DNA results are back and are as follows: 69% Chihuahua, 7% Yorkshire Terrier, 6% Shih Tzu, 4% Pomeranian, 4% Pekingese, 3% Poodle (Toy and Minature), 2% Dachshund, 2% Papillon and 1% Bichob Frise! And we will add that they are 100% adorable!

The perfect home for Avery and Emmie would be one with high energy and a fun environment. These sisters are very bonded and we are asking that they be adopted together. Avery and Emmie need a family who can check on them every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works 10-12 hour days). Note that Avery and Emmie do react (bark) to noises, so we do not think they would do well in an apartment. They can also be a door darter and they are fast, so we recommend a secure area around your front door. Avery and Emmie are growing up with a human sister that adores them. So we know they do well with older, mature children (8 and older). Avery and Emmie would be great family dogs.

These puppies are loving and adorable. Some family is going to hit the jackpot with them.

Avery and Emmie are being fostered in the Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas) area. Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ If the application submits correctly, the system will send you a copy. If you do not receive a copy into your email que, it did not submit. Feel free to email us at DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you need help with the application.

Avery and Emmie are spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. They are ready to join their forever family – could that be you?

These dogs are a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $350.00 adoption donation per puppy is required ($700 for the pair). All vet work is completed.

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
