Ava's Story
Meet Ava <br/>Rescued from a Mexico border town and once slated for euthanasia, Ava’s story is nothing short of miraculous. When she came to us on September 20, 2024, at just six months old, she was one of our saddest cases. Ava was covered in ticks—so many that her skin couldn’t even be seen. Her ears were packed full, she was severely malnourished and anemic, and she had clearly been fighting just to survive.<br/>But Ava was born with an incredible will to live—and she did more than survive, she thrived. After a year of rehabilitation, this once fragile pup is now a happy, healthy girl, ready for her forever home.<br/> Her Personality<br/>Ava has the sweetest spirit. She has learned that good people exist, and she shows her gratitude with soulful eye contact and endless affection. She’s eager to please, gentle, and treat-motivated—always excited to learn new things.<br/> What Ava Loves<br/>Being part of the pack—she would thrive in a home with playful dog friends.<br/>Spending time with her people, whether at home or out and about.<br/>Walks on a loose leash and quiet nights in her crate (though she’s happy to learn to sleep outside of it too!).<br/> Special Notes<br/>Ava does have a small prey drive, so she’d do best in a home without cats—unless you’re experienced and able to manage that dynamic.<br/>After everything she has endured, Ava is still full of love, joy, and resilience.
