Autumn Boxer Mix SHADE GAP, PA

Update 1/5/2024: Autumn is learning some new tricks at her current foster home. She is practicing sit pretty, lay down, and wait. She still loves to jump up and say hello but is being gentler and getting down quicker. She is a smart girl and would love a person to teach her all the things and take her on adventures. She would be best with no other animals or an older, calmer dog that won't over stimulate her.

UPDATE 12/7/2023: Autumn is still looking for her perfect furever home. We have learned a little more about her with another foster home trial run. She can easily get anxious and overstimulated so she needs a family that can really work with her and teach her how to calm down, regulate herself, and take breaks. She loves her people and loves to play. She sends out mixed signals to other dogs sometimes so a dog sibling needs to be particular and might be better off with a slightly older, slightly calmer dog to help Autumn regulate.

UPDATE 9/18: Autumn had a wonderful meet and greet this weekend and was on her absolute best behavior. Unfortunately, Autumn is high energy and needs a super active lifestyle so they weren't the best match. She was so happy to be in a new home and was so ready to call it her own. Do you have an active life and want a doggy companion to share it with? She may not have all the manners yet but she will learn in no time. Bring out the high value treats, toys, and activities and she is eager to please.

Autumn is about 1 year old. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines.
Foster mom says: "Autumn has one of the sweetest souls when it comes to other animals and kids. She has a funny personality and loves to play. She catches on quickly and knows almost every command. Autumn is potty trained and loves going outside for walks. She also enjoys playing fetch and snuggling with stuffed animals. Some days autumn will lay at your feet while you’re doing house work. When you’re at your lowest, she comes right up to let you know you’re indeed not alone. To know her is to love her." UPDATE: Autumn is doing much better on the leash! She also loves food.

Crate trained but prefers to sleep in a dog bed next to her people. House trained, knows several commands, improved leash walking already. She is smart and loving. She would prefer a dog sibling that will play with her. Fence is not required with active family that can keep her busy and stimulated.

Update 8/27: Autumn arrived at rescue last night and was super excited to meet new people and get out of the transport crate. We've never had such a warm, excited welcome from a dog. She is absolutely sweet, loving, and energy. She spent the first night getting to know an senior dog that she was able to respect boundaries and quietly spent the night in the crate. She is asking to be let out and playing respectfully.
She is spazzy while playing which includes jumping, hugging, growling, mouthing, and zoomies. She does not show actual signs of aggression but can look like aggression at first. She has loved the puppies and other young dog in the house. All she wants to do is be their friend and get them to play with her.
She met a cat this morning. She was curious but easily got distracted and disinterested. I'm confident she would chase cats while they were running if allowed, but only to try to play with them. She could easily be trained to leave the cats alone and would respond well. She can be placed with a family with cats who are willing to train and have dog savvy cats and understand what's involved.

Autumn is going to be so fun and loving. We are hoping to update with a video of playtime soon so you can see the spazzy in action!!
