Austin's Story
Austin is a 12-year-old, 60-pound Pit Bull mix who came to the shelter alongside his brother, Bronk, after their owner could no longer properly care for them. He arrived dirty, covered in ticks, with irritated, red eyes that required medication, painful ears, and teeth that aren't in the best shape. It's no surprise he wasn't feeling his best that first day.

As Austin has started feeling better, his sweet personality has come shining through. A tasty snack is a quick way to make a new friend, and he's always happy to accept a treat while soaking up a little attention. He's a gentle senior who is ready to leave the hard days behind and enjoy the comfort, kindness, and full belly he's always deserved.

Austin is currently being treated for Ehrlichia and Lyme disease and continues to improve with the care he's receiving. Every day he grows a little more comfortable, a little more confident, and a little more convinced that people aren't so bad after all.

Austin will be neutered, microchipped. He has been brought current on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested, and started on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention prior to adoption.will be neutered, microchipped.

Apply to adopt at: https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information

Apply to adopt at: https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
