While he is slow to warm up, if you give him space and let him come to you, he will become your best friend. Once you have made it to the best friend stage, you are going to be treated to cuddles, solicitation for pets, and much more.<br/><br/>Austin has learned how to walk on a loose leash and is doing really well with that skill. He was sick for his first few months at POOCH (we were worried we were going to lose him at one point!) with a bad case of giardia, so he was a bit behind in his training. He's not that into sitting on the ground, but we are working on it.<br/><br/>He LOVES water. If you get him an inexpensive plastic kiddie pool, he is going to soak in it and play. It makes him so happy.<br/><br/>Austin has shown that he can play well with some dogs, so he may be a good second dog in the home. He doesn't tend to love little dogs, so a bigger playmate would be the name of the game.
