Yay for her arrival! She continues under the wonderful vet care here in Ithaca and is learning all the ways of living indoors and being a valued family member.
Personality
Auroras spirit is astounding!! This little dog is one of the most amazing testaments to dogs ability to forgive, heal, and trust again. She is enthusiastic and exuberant in her exploration of her new life, and is not timid or tentative as she meets every new situation with hope and interest. Though she was initially shy with men, that has nearly vanished due to a handful of meet-and-greets with kind, patient, dog-savvy men.
Aurora LOVES affection! She loves being petted and kissed and loves all sorts of attention and fun! She loves being your companion and she loves being part of your life!
She learns so fast and so well! She is already house trained and crate trained, does great at the vet office, and is learning to walk on a leash! Here are some things to know about her:
She loves to rough and tumble with other dogs! She loves playing fetch, and even brings the ball back!
She is very athletic and agile and would probably be amazing at doggy sports like agility!
She is not timid or skittish!
She loves meeting new people and going on new adventures!
She is very observant and enjoys watching and learning all about the world around her!
She is high energy! No couch potato here! She will need a lot of exercise and would be an
excellent hiking companion! She also needs continued positive reinforcement training, so she can keep learning to be her best self!
Aurora has been through a lot of changes in a short time, so her personality is still evolving. She cant wait for her next adventure of finding her forever family!!
She is up to date on all vaccines, is microchipped, and on prevention for flea/tick and heartworm!

To apply for Aurora, fill out an adoption application at http://cayugadogrescue.org/wp/adoption-application/ We will forward it on to her foster mom who is taking care of Aurora in Ithaca NY where she lives, and who also works with Ruff Start St. Croix Rescue!
