Aurora's Story

6-year-old Aurora is searching for her forever home after being rescued from an overcrowded shelter. Despite an unknown past, Aurora’s bright spirit and love for life shine through—she is an absolute delight who greets each day with enthusiasm and resilience. Whatever she has been through, it’s clear she’s a strong and adaptable girl who doesn’t let anything hold her back.

Aurora does have some weakness in her back legs and appears to have had surgery in the past, but she handles it beautifully and continues to stay active and engaged. Regular walks and daily activity are important for her, as they help keep her legs strong and support her overall well-being. She has done well with other dogs when properly introduced, though she would thrive best as the only dog in the home where she can soak up all the attention.

When Aurora first arrived, her skin was in rough condition, but she is currently receiving treatment along with plenty of TLC and is already showing improvement. With continued care, exercise, and lots of love, Aurora will make a devoted and joyful companion.

If you’re looking for a resilient, affectionate dog who will reward you with endless love and personality, Aurora may be the perfect match. Visit our website and submit an adoption application today to meet this special girl.

https://www.seniordogsanctuary.com/adoption-application.html

Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland's Adoption Policy
Why adopt a Senior Dog? Experienced, housebroken, settled down, loving and lovable, good with children, excellent company, non-judgemental - we could go on but you get the picture. Exceptions to everything listed? Sure, but all in all an experience you will never regret. First, come visit the dogs that interest you; we are open, by appointment, every day of the week from 10-3. Then complete our Adoption Application, which asks for personal references, your animals' Vet, information about your home environment and your agreement to allow us to do a home visit. Once approved, we will do a meet and greet with your family - including your four-legged family members. If all goes well, you welcome your pup into your home and your heart and you all become members of our extended Senior Dog Sanctuary family!
