AUGUST's Story
NAME: AUGUST
GENDER: MALE
BREED: FORMOSAN MOUNTAIN DOG MIX
COLOR: BLACK
AGE: 1 YEAR OLD
WEIGHT: 32lbs
SPAY OR NEUTER: Yes
MICROCHIP: Yes

If you would like to give AUGUST a forever home, please go to
www.adoptadoggie.org to fill out an online application with home photos.

August is a friendly and playful boy! He is good with people and children. August is now in a foster home with other dogs and loves them all. Having been through such a tough life, August still loves and trusts humans. There’s not a mean bone in him. He is doing well in his foster home and ready for his forever home. August started some leash training and is learning at a good pace. He is crate trained and doing well on his house training. He rides well in the car and can wait patiently while his foster mom runs errands. August is a wonderful dog and will make a good family dog.

August’s Rescue Story

August was found abandoned on the streets. A kind dog owner was nearby and walked around the area to find his owners. No one recognized him. She has dogs of her own and doesn’t want another one. She took him to the vet to scan for microchip. Unfortunately, there’s no microchip or owner’s tag on him. She immediately reached out to several rescue groups. No one was willing to take him in. Adoption is extremely slow and black dogs are the hardest to find homes. Through some searching, she reached out to an international rescue organization. The founder has over 160 dogs waiting for homes and didn’t have space for another dog. However, she knew it was urgent and worried he might end up back on the streets. The founder took him in and promised to find him a forever home.

August had a thorough medical checkup. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on his blood tests. Please give August a loving home where he will never be left unwanted again.

Please watch August’s YouTube videos below:

https://youtu.be/aJ_9OguGHRk - Tyni & August at Foster Home
https://youtu.be/AJ7eMfuVegE - August & Auggie chewing bones
https://youtu.be/g28pEjaDUDE - August chewing bone
https://youtu.be/d78J3sf2UoM - August no food aggression
https://youtu.be/Vf1QZ_qW7j8 - August at Doggie Park
https://youtu.be/2yYW7zMFprA - August & Auggie good with children
https://youtu.be/Y6gqalbAg34 - August good with Volunteers
https://youtu.be/QPc3tIiDYnM - August & Auggie playing
https://youtu.be/ZNa2vHc6vUw - Clove & August best buddies
https://youtu.be/dsRMjEb4fgw - August Hiking
https://youtu.be/mezjr58V968 - August Vet Checkup

If you would like to give AUGUST a forever home,
please go to www.adoptadoggie.org to fill out an online application.
Please email your home environment photos to contact@adoptadoggie.org
Once we approve your application, we will get back to you ASAP.

Adopt a Doggie Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Adopt-a-Doggie/312107112299799

Temperament:
Energy Level: Medium
Ideal home environment: Both Quiet & Active
Is the dog good with strangers: Friendly
The dog is best with children of what age group?
