Atticus's Story

Meet Atticus — a happy, energetic pup who’s absolutely thriving in foster care!

Atticus is a playful, fun-loving boy with lots of joyful puppy energy and a big zest for life. He plays hard and respectfully with his foster’s resident pitbull—both indoors and outdoors—enjoying games like tug and chase with zero resource guarding. Despite his zoomies, Atticus has excellent house manners and has only chewed on his own toys (a very good boy!).

He’s cat-friendly, currently living with two cats. While he can be a bit curious and enthusiastic, he’s easily redirected and shows no prey drive. Atticus is nearly 100% potty trained, does wonderfully in his crate (even on a 4-hour road trip!), and his separation-related vocalizing has improved to almost none. Fireworks? Loud and close? He didn’t even blink.

On leash, Atticus does well overall but can be a bit pull-y—training is already scheduled, and he’s eager to learn. He’s confident around traffic, walkers, bikes, and other dogs, though he can feel stressed when passing fenced yards with barky dogs. He’s meeting new people and building confidence every day; he may be a little timid at first, but warms up quickly.
