Atticus's Story

Atticus is a special needs pup who needs just the right home to succeed. He is a very insecure dog and will lash out if he feels pressured or threatened. The Shelter staff has been working daily with him to build his trust with people.
Atticus will need a home with no children and someone who has worked with fear biters. He is not a dog for an inexperienced owner or family.
We love this little dog and he has made great strides in trusting the staff but it still takes two people to put a harness on him. We believe he will succeed in the right home if given time to trust and blossom.
Atticus will play with other friendly dogs but can be protective of his things and his food.
We are not sure how he would do with cats, he fostered in a home for a weekend and barked at the resident cat quite a bit.
