Atlas's Story
Meet Atlas – A Resilient, Playful Young Dog Looking for His Forever Home

Atlas is a 1-year-old dog with a big heart, a playful spirit, and a remarkable story of resilience. His life began under difficult circumstances—he and his litter were found at around 4 weeks old in an abandoned homeless encampment, hungry and without care. With proper nutrition, consistency, and lots of love, he quickly learned how to thrive.

He was adopted earlier this year, but through no fault of his own was later surrendered to a shelter. We immediately brought him back into our care, and since then he has been making excellent progress and continuing his training.

Atlas is active, athletic, and happiest when playing with other dogs, especially larger ones. He enjoys structured activity and would do best in a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training. He has recently completed two weeks at a professional board-and-train program and has made great strides. He now reliably recalls to his name, and he knows sit, stay, and down. He is also noticeably calmer and continues to improve as he practices these skills.

Atlas is very loving and bonds closely with his people. He is great with kids, friendly with adults, and does well with other dogs once he gets to know them. He especially enjoys playing with larger dogs. Because of his size and enthusiasm, he can be a little too energetic for small dogs and would do best with bigger canine companions.

Atlas still has plenty of energy and is continuing to work on excitement and dog reactivity, but with the right home, consistent exercise, and ongoing training, he has all the qualities to be an exceptional companion.

Atlas has been through a lot in his short life and deserves a stable, committed home where he can continue to grow into the wonderful dog he is becoming.

Ideal home:
• Active household
• Experience with medium to large dogs preferred
• Commitment to exercise, structure, and continued training
• A home with larger dog playmates or opportunities for supervised socialization

If you’re looking for a young dog with energy, intelligence, and a powerful comeback story, Atlas may be the perfect fit.

Please copy and paste the adoption application in your browser.

Adoption Application Form
