Athena's Story

Athena came to us through no fault of her own. When her family faced hardship and lost their home, she lost hers too. Before that, much of her young life was spent as a breeding dog, her worth measured in litters rather than love. But the moment she walked through our doors, Athena made it clear she had so much more to offer the world than that.
And she hasn't stopped showing us since.
This girl is an absolute sweetheart. She's the kind of dog who will curl up next to you on the couch and make you wonder how anyone could ever let her go. Athena is calm, cuddly, and deeply affectionate, she just wants to be close to her people and soak up every bit of love she never got enough of before.
Don't let her gentle nature fool you though, she's smart as a whip. Athena is crate trained and has solid basic obedience, making her an easy and rewarding dog to live with from day one.
She's also a social butterfly. Athena does great with children, other dogs, and cats, meaning she can slot into just about any loving home. Whether you're a family, a couple, or a single dog lover looking for a loyal companion, this girl is ready to be your ride-or-die.
Athena has spent enough time being used. Now it's her turn to simply be loved.

Hope’s Haven Dog Rescue Foundation's Adoption Policy
At Hope’s Haven Dog Rescue Foundation, all adoption applicants must complete a detailed application and pass a multi-step screening process. This includes reference checks, a virtual or in-person home visit, and a phone interview. All adopters are required to sign a formal adoption contract that outlines their responsibilities and our expectations for lifelong care. Similarly, all fosters must complete an application and agree to terms through a signed foster agreement. We take time to ensure that every match is appropriate for both the dog and the adopter, prioritizing the dog’s long-term success in their new home. All dogs are fully vetted, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered (or contractually required to be sterilized when age-appropriate) before adoption. We provide full transparency regarding each dog’s behaviour, medical history, and any special needs. Our adoption process also includes continued support and guidance from our team, especially for dogs undergoing training or rehabilitation. We are committed to ensuring each dog transitions safely and happily into a permanent, loving home.
