Athena's Story
Athena is a confident, affectionate, and active girl who is ready to find a loving, stable home of her own. She has settled in beautifully with her foster family and is proving to be an excellent companion with a playful spirit and a sweet heart.

Athena is house-trained, enjoys going for walks, and has been doing well in her foster home. She loves toys and chew bones of all kinds, enjoys chasing a ball, and may even be convinced to play fetch with a bit of practice! Athena thrives with space to move and would do best in a home with a yard and an adopter who enjoys an active lifestyle. Basically, she's a typical Heeler!

She currently lives with a young female heeler and gets along well with her. We believe Athena could also do well with a male dog or be perfectly happy as an only dog. Due to her energetic nature, she would be best suited to a home with older children. She may be a bit too enthusiastic for little ones and could accidentally knock them over. Athena has not yet been tested with cats.

Athena is a sensitive, thoughtful dog who benefits from patience as she settles into new environments. She appreciates being given time to decompress and build trust at her own pace before learning new things. Once she feels safe and secure, her confidence continues to shine through. She is food-motivated (and adorable about it—she drools when treats are involved!) and responds well to calm, consistent handling.

Athena is ready for a home that will give her love, structure, and the time she needs to settle in and thrive fully. With the right match, she will make a loyal, joyful companion.

Athena is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm prevention. She weighs about 40 pounds and has a docked tail. She is approximately 2.5 years old.
