Athena's Story

Hi, my name is Athena and I was found running the streets of Topeka!<br/><br/>I need a little time to warm up to people and other dogs, but once I do I am the BEST dog. I can be a little over protective but I think with a little training I can learn what my people expect from me and I will be a well mannered girl.<br/>I have been a little overexcited about the cats in the house so foster mom keeps a baby gate between us for now so I don’t chase them around too much. I love laying in laps, chewing on bones and wrestling with my foster brother Bandit. I really just want a home of my own with parents who will love me and treat me right. I am a very good climber so a secure fence and close monitoring will be necessary for me until I settle in.

Mid America Bully Breed Rescue's Adoption Policy

When you have selected the dog(s) that you are interested in, the first step is to fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application, an adoption specialist will be in touch with you within 72 hours to discuss your application, your home situation and the dog you are interested in. (There are times it may take longer depending on application volume.) Once screening is complete and we feel that an MABBR dog is the right choice for you, we will conduct a home visit. Since MABBR is a volunteer run organization, the adoption process may take a few weeks. Please be patient as this process is very important to ensuring the best possible match between you and one of our adoptables.
