Athena's Story
Hi, I'm Athena, and my story really begins the moment I was brought home at just 4-6 weeks old. I was tiny, unsure, and still figuring out the world - but the second I landed in a warm home, everything clicked. I wasn't meant to be an outside dog. I was meant to be someone's girl. I learned quickly that soft blankets, warm laps, and being close to my person were the best things in life.

I'm a big baby in the sweetest way. I love to curl up right on your chest, tuck my head under your chin, and just breathe with you. That's my safe place. That's where I feel loved. And when I look up at you with my big smile - the one that takes over my whole face - you'll know exactly how happy I am.

But don't let my snuggly side fool you. I'm also a highenergy, squeakytoyloving goofball. I adore being outside with you - running around, doing my zoomies, and playing fetch like it's the greatest sport ever invented. I'll chase a ball for as long as you'll throw it. And if you hand me a squeaky toy? Oh, that's my heaven. I'll squeak it proudly, nonstop, like it's my personal soundtrack.

I bring a lot of joy into a home. I'm warm, loyal, expressive, and full of personality. Once I trust you, I'm all in - your shadow, your cuddle buddy, your biggest fan.

A Few Things to Know About Me
Kids: I haven't been around kids, and I can get a little jealous when I'm protecting my person.

Other Dogs: I've only been around small dogs, and even then, I needed time to adjust. I can coexist with dogs after slow introductions, but I'm happiest as the only dog.

Cats: Sometimes I ignore them, sometimes I want to play - I'm bigger than they are, so supervision helps.

Training: I'm housetrained and know sit, wait, and get down. I've never been cratetrained. I can learn more commands!

Energy Level: High - zoomies are my specialty. However, I know when to relax!

Favorite Toys: Squeaky toys, always.

Car Rides: I can do them, even if they're not my favorite.

Favorite Activities: Playing fetch, tug, zooming around the yard, and snuggling right into your chest.

Stranger Danger: When I meet new people, I need a little time. At first, I see strangers as something to be cautious about. But if I'm around the same people consistently, I open up - fully and beautifully. Once I know you're safe, I'll show you my whole heart.

My Ideal Home:
I dream of a home with a big yard - something with a 7foot fence so I can run safely and get all my energy out. I want someone who loves to play with me, laugh with me, and let me be their one and only.
Someone who appreciates a dog who gives her whole heart and wants to be close - really close.
If you're looking for a loyal, silly, affectionate girl who will fill your home with warmth and squeakytoy concerts, I might just be the one.

Athena is participating in the iRehome program.
