Athena (158616) (In a foster home)'s Story
Athena is the perfect definition of a loyal, protective best friend. She may be shy when you first meet her, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into the most beautiful, devoted girl who just wants to be by your side—always (yes, even into the bathroom).

She walks beautifully on a leash with no pulling, often walking slightly ahead as if she’s proudly guiding her person. Athena knows her basic commands, including sit, and goes in and out of her kennel with ease. She is fully house-trained, kennel-trained, and leash-trained, and can be trusted outside of her kennel all day without getting into trouble.

Athena is calm and respectful indoors. She doesn’t bark in her kennel unless someone is at the door, and she prefers quiet companionship over chaos. Toys aren’t really her thing—she’d much rather curl up next to you and enjoy your presence.

She enjoys staying active and loves going on runs, especially after breakfast. Her daily routine includes bathroom breaks outside in the morning and again in the evening, and she thrives with consistency. Athena currently enjoys a diet of white rice, chicken, and sweet potatoes and prefers wet food over kibble. Her favorite treats include pig ears, cow eyes, and bones.

Athena does well with other dogs, though slow, thoughtful introductions are best for her. She is sensitive to loud noises and fast movements, so a calm home would suit her perfectly. Bath time can be scary for her, but with gentle reassurance and a calm voice, she bravely gets through it—often hiding under your arm for comfort.

Athena would do best with someone patient, loving, and understanding—someone who wants a loyal companion who will stick by their side through everything. In return, she offers unwavering devotion, gentle affection, and a bond that only deepens with time.

Athena is currently in foster care outside of the shelter.
