Aster's Story

Contact Christina 916-541-4649

Meet Aster, a beautiful 2-year-old black Lab mix weighing 66lbs. She came to us from Kern County Animal Services and is currently fostered in Sacramento while she waits for her forever home.

Aster is the kind of dog who makes life feel peaceful at home, but brings a little comedy and enthusiasm to her daily adventures. She has calm, polite house manners and is truly a joy to live with. Gentle, attentive, and eager to please, she’s a classic companion dog.

Aster walks well on leash and enjoys her daily walks. She knows sit, down and drop it. She is very interested in squirrels on her walk. She has played nicely with a neighbor’s puppy and does ok on walks with other dogs who approach appropriately. Because of this fact, she would benefit from a confident handler and continued positive leash work. Aster also enjoys water and is wonderfully polite at mealtimes — she waits at your feet and has excellent food manners.

In the home, she is soft, respectful when greeting people, and very responsive to gentle correction. She is approved for children age 7+. She clearly wants to do the right thing and thrives with guidance and consistency.

Aster would do best with an active adopter who appreciates her enthusiasm outdoors and her calm, loving presence indoors. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with personality, brains, and a little squirrel patrol spirit, Aster may be your girl.

Currently fostered in: Sacramento, CA
