Aspyn's Story

Meet Aspyn! This sweet girl is small enough to fit in the bend of your arm and quiet enough to disappear into a blanket to send you into a panic that she’s vanished.

Aspyn was surrendered because the person who loves her could not provide the medical care she may need long term. Her records talk of chronic ear infections, and the luxating patellas we see so often. The slow, manageable things that become more weighty with time. Aspyn is a good pup whose family was struggling with the quiet maintenance of a small aging body.

Aspyn is gentle and has lived peacefully with young children, cats, and other dogs. She has been left home alone for a few hours at a time and simply sleeps in her bed like a polite little loaf of bread waiting for her person to return. She’s not use to a crate, and she’s not fully housebroken, but she is potty pad savvy.

Aspyn LOVES going outside and practically levitates at the sight of a leash. She toddles along like the world has personally invited her for a stroll and it has instantly become her best day ever. She's not the biggest fan of car rides, preferring to walk everywhere she needs to go. She's not the best at manuevering stairs, unless they are carpeted. Fortunately, she is very light to carry up and down as needed. She's also good with using ramps to get onto couches and beds.

She also adores snuggling, preferring to be in your lap or your arms at all times - the best kind of Stage 5 clinger. She's hopging the humans in her forever home are around most of the time to lavish her with the attention she deserves. She's also love to have a canine companion.

Aspyn does not need chaos. She does not need perfection. What she needs is steadiness. A home where a small dog with delicate knees and tender ears can be carried when she’s tired and celebrated when she’s brave. A place where she can finish the second half of her life with dignity and grace, and we intend to find it.

Aspyn is approximately 9 years old and 5 lbs.

Fostered in Alexandria, VA
Please apply at MirisHaven.org
