Asher's Story
Asher is about 14 months old and 72 lbs. Although his age technically makes him an adult, in some ways he's still a puppy. Asher clearly has German Shepherd in him, but we don't know what else. He is a very sweet, loving, happy and playful dog, He loves to be chased by dogs and humans. Asher is good in the car. He is house-trained and crate-trained.

Asher's temperament is a bit to the submissive side; he is not aggressive. He has been good with meeting strangers. Asher was raised with small kids, but we believe that his exuberant behavior makes him less suited to a house with small children as he is likely to knock them over (or at least until he is trained not to do so).

Asher is a high energy dog. When he goes to doggy daycare, we're told that he plays all day long. At his foster home, he has a lot of access to a fenced yard and is often outside even when it's raining or snowing. It is in his nature to be on the move. Asher is definitely not suited to apartment, condo or townhouse living. For Asher and his adoptive family to be happy, he needs a lot of access to a large fenced yard (a physical fence, not an electronic fence), a playful dog buddy, active play, visits to a dog park, etc..

Asher is very smart as you would expect of a German Shepherd. German Shepherds thrive on structure, purpose and clear leadership. This requires daily training, mental challenges and confident handling. Asher learns very quickly, wants to please and is food motivated. If you aren't interested in or committed to training (using positive techniques) then this isn't the right breed for you.

Asher is up to date on his shots, neutered, microchipped, dewormed and is heartworm negative.

If you're interested in Asher, please TEXT (don't call) Nancy at 908-892-9583 or email her at heldnancy31@gmail.com.
