Asher's Story

Meet Asher — an incredible dog with an incredible story. He is about a year old and 45 lbs.

Asher was saved from euthanasia, and from the moment he arrived, it was clear he’s something truly special. He is smart, affectionate, eager to connect, and an absolute joy to train. He is such a fun dog to work with and be with.

Asher is the kind of dog who loves to learn. He picks up new skills fast — he LOVES the treadmill — and he lights up when given a job or a puzzle to solve. He would thrive in a home that gives him fun “thinking problems” and continues training with him, not because he especially needs it, but because he enjoys it so much.

He is kid friendly, friendly with females and non-dominant male dogs, and can be cat-trained (he wants to chase in good fun). He has spent quite a bit of time with our trainer, so he has had a lot of good exposure and consistency. He is great on leash, crate-trained, house-trained, and has good manners.

And like all our dogs, Asher’s adoption includes group training classes in Sebastopol twice a week (Monday & Wednesday evenings) plus continued support — perfect for a dog who loves to learn as much as he does.

Affectionate, sharp, and full of heart, Asher is ready to be someone’s partner, training buddy, and everyday joy.

Roxy's Ranch Haven's Adoption Policy
Our rescued animals are looking for loving, responsible forever homes. Rescue dogs are pulled from overcrowded shelters where they have been listed for euthanasia due to space. To ensure they find the best match, here’s how our adoption process works: 1. Select a Pet Browse through our available animals and click on the one you’re interested in inquiring about. You may visit https://roxysranchhaven.org/for-adoption/ to do this as well. If you are unsure which animal is the best fit for you, but would like to adopt, please continue with Step 2. 2. Complete the Adoption Application Fill out the form completely, including all details that will help us ensure a good match between you and the animal. 3. Phone Screening Once your application is submitted, a member of our team will contact you for a phone screening to go over your information and confirm if the pet is a good fit. 4. Schedule a Farm Visit If approved, we’ll arrange a time for you to visit Roxy’s Ranch Haven to meet the animal in person. This will be confirmed by email or during your call. 5. Adoption Fee & Paperwork After your visit, you’ll receive an email with instructions for submitting the $350 adoption fee (which supports the farm) along with the post-adoption form and official paperwork, including shelter notes and medical records. 6. Meet your future pet During your visit, you’ll spend time with the pet you’re interested in and get to know them better. 7. Submit Final Paperwork Once all required forms and paperwork are returned, your adoption is nearly complete! 8. Adoption Certificate Issued You’ll receive your official Adoption Approval Certificate, signed by the Executive Director of Roxy’s Ranch Haven.
