Ash - Puppy's Story
This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, or the North Central Texas area.

NAME: Ash
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 10 months old
WEIGHT: About 8 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with older, mature children (10 and older)

Introducing sweet Ash. She is a young puppy who enjoys playing and cuddling.

Ash was an owner surrender. She was rescued from a home with an elderly owner who had more dogs than could be properly cared for. We rescued 4 Chihuahuas from this home. Ash is now safe and ready to start a new chapter in a loving, forever home. We love this sweet girl and cannot wait for you to meet her.

Ash gets along well with other small dogs in her foster home. She loves to play with the younger dogs and will run and tumble with them. This sweet and hyper little bundle of joy is always up for a game, especially if it involves playing outside! After playtime, she will snuggle in bed with her fellow Chihuahuas for a team nap. With a sweet and easygoing nature, Ash tends to follow the lead of other dogs and would thrive in a home with confident canine companions. She is just beginning to discover toys and enjoys tug-of-war games.

Ash is a little shy when she meets new people. But she quickly warms up and wants to be your friend. Ash is a total lovebug who adores belly rubs and snuggling up close for cuddles. Ash will follow you everywhere and shower you with love. She loves to be warm and cozy and will cuddle with you as you watch TV together. She also enjoys basking in the sun as you enjoy warm days together.

Ash is incredibly smart. She is doing very well with her potty training and has taught herself to use the doggy door (with supervision). She will also use potty pads as a back up plan. Ash is crate trained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. We are just beginning to work with her on a harness and leash.

Ash is about 10 months old. She weighs 8 pounds and is fully grown. Ash has a beautiful white coat with tan highlights. Her floppy ears are adorable. With long, gangly legs, Ash can be a little clumsy at times — like a newborn foal finding their footing — and it’s absolutely adorable to watch! Because of Ash’s long legs and athletic build, a chain-link fence may not be the best option. A secure wooden privacy fence would be ideal.

Ash’s ideal home will be one with a high-to-medium activity level. She would love to have another small dog (maybe 1 – 4 years old) to play with. She may do well as an only dog as long as her family is around alot to pay attention to her. Ash is fairly quiet so we think she would do well in an apartment environment. Ash will need a family who can check on her every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works 10-12 hour days). She would be great in a home where there’s a great deal of activity and people were home a lot. There are no children in her foster home, but we think she would do well with chidren 10 and older.

Overall, Ash is a delightful companion with a loving heart and a playful spirit, making her a cherished part of any home.

Ash is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. If this sweet girl sounds like the right fit for your home, our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ Note: it works best when our application is filled out on a computer versus a phone or tablet. When the application submits correctly, the system will send you a copy. If you do not receive a copy into your email que, it did not submit. Feel free to email us at DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you need help with the application.

Ash is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $350.00 adoption donation required.

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
