Arya - *FH -Training Camp Grad's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Arya is a sweet girl who wants to find a hooman/family who will be patient with her and help her come out of her shell. Once she warms up, she loves butt scratches and being petted. She is unsure of new people and needs time. She is very treat motivated and that does help!
Arya will need a home with a yard. She is getting better at going outside, but does not like noise or if it is too "peopley" as we call it. She especially likes going out at night when it is quiet and loves to do zoomies. She is really fast! She loves soft squeaky toys, chewing on bones, and is both house and crate trained.

Arya is eating K/D prescription food. She does not have kidney issues, but her vet is recommending it due to the low sodium. She also is on an eyedrop medication every twelve hours. She had been drinking excessive amounts of water, and after bloodwork and other tests, her vet started a trial of this in March. Arya showed a good response to the medication and will remain on it.

Arya's favorite place to sleep is in a bed under my desk but loves other dog beds also. I believe she feels safe there. She does well with other dogs of all sizes, but can be dog selective and does not like to be disturbed when sleeping.

Graduated from camp on Nov 1st:

Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the Greyhound Advancement Center which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”.

Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves.

Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family.

We cannot thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!

******************************************

Arya was surrendered to PRBJ when her family had to move but were not able to take her. She is a sweet cuddle bug that would enjoy living in home with or without kids. She does great with kids of all ages and is great with dogs and cats too! Arya is housebroken, crate trained, and she enjoys sleeping with her family or in her crate with the door open:) As she is a bit timid, a fenced backyard is required to give her a safe place to romp and play in. New owners are encouraged to hang out with her while in the yard and leash walk her to better socialize and acclimate her to new surroundings.
