We are helping our friends at Delmarva K9 find a home for Artie! Artie is a 6-year-old cattle dog/hound mix, neutered, and a graduate of our training program. He does best with submissive to neutral dogs after proper introductions. Artie would thrive in a cat-free home, and due to some past experiences, a home without children under 10 is recommended. Being grabbed by the collar can make him nervous, which we believe stems from previous catch-pole trauma. He may take a little time to warm up to men, but with a treat or two, he quickly realizes you’re a friend. Once comfortable, Artie is a loyal, affectionate companion who just needs the right environment to shine. If you’re looking for a well-trained dog who will bond deeply with his people, Artie could be your guy

First step is to fill out an adoption application, we check vet references; previous pets spayed/neutered, vaccinated, kept on heartworm meds. If adopter has a current dog, we do a meet and greet on neutral ground, and lastly is a home check; ensures the current dog is comfortable with the new dog.
