Arlo's Story
- Sweet, affectionate, and loves spending time with his people
- Enjoys cuddling up with his person but is also happy relaxing independently nearby
- Walks well on leash and responds well to direction, even when excited
- Gets very excited to meet people and happily welcomes attention from those who want to pet him
- Great car rider and eagerly hops in for adventures
- Kept his crate clean throughout the day in foster care
- Slept peacefully through the night and is an early riser-usually ready to start the day around 6 a.m.
- Needs to be the only dog in the home. He reacts to other dogs with barking and growling, so a dog-free household will be the best fit for him.
- Can get a little overly enthusiastic when excited and may occasionally try to hump. His foster was able to redirect him easily once they learned his cues.
- Can be vocal when he hears things outside, whether they're real or imagined
- Loves to play tug and can be very enthusiastic and vocal during the game-his dramatic noises are simply part of his play style!
- Water isn't really his thing, so don't expect him to be your swimming or water-adventure buddy

Arlo is a fun-loving, affectionate guy who has a lot to offer. He's looking for a family who will appreciate his big personality, provide structure and guidance, and give him plenty of opportunities to enjoy life by their side.

*Arlo has a bite record: His previous owners attempted to break up a fight with him and another dog and were bitten in the process.

Schedule a meet-and-greet with Arlo by completing our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey.

Join our Foster program and become a hero for dogs like Arlo!
