Ariel's Story
Ariel is a graduate of our dog training program at Northeastern New Mexico Correctional Facility. Her handler writes:<br/>"Ariel is a 1-year-old pit/terrier mix. She is black and white and of medium build. Ariel is a favorite around here at the prison. She has a very friendly presence about her. She loves attention from anyone who will give her a few minutes of their time. That means hugs and kisses from both parties!!<br/>"Ariel is a very high-energy dog that loves to run and play with any type of toy he can get a hold of. She has no problems playing alone. Her social skills with other dogs are a work in progress, though. She is still young and really doesn't know her place in the pack yet, so she tends to like to get too close to other dogs' space. In those times, I take the time to instill in her that isn't proper behavior by utilizing a tug toy so both dogs can enjoy the fun with each other. If that doesn't work, a little time out usually helps.<br/>"Ariel loves to eat! Once you spend a little time with Ariel, she will leave an everlasting impression with you. Not only is she cute, she will brighten your day. She walks great on a leash and knows all of her commands. All she needs now is a forever home that she knows is gonna be hers forever. She needs lots of love in her life and will do the same for you."All adoption fees include spay/neuter, all shots up to adoption date, and lifetime microchip registration. <br/>All medium or large dogs will be adopted to homes with at least a 5 ft secure fence. All adopted dogs are eligible for free beginner basic training to help transition to their furever homes go as smoothly as possible.
