ARGO's Story

Argo is currently in foster care. Here is what his foster family has to say about this handsome guy: Meet Argo, our incredible foster dog from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Argo is a 3-year-old German Shepherd, and while his coloring may hint at Belgian Malinois, his heart and soul are pure German Shepherd. Loyal, gentle, and deeply loving. Argo is one of those dogs who truly loves being loved. He adores people, leans in for pets, and soaks up every bit of affection he can get. He’s just as wonderful with other dogs and enjoys playful moments with his canine friends. When Argo came to us, he was neglected, malnourished, and frightened of the world around him. He had missed out on so much and didn’t yet know what it meant to feel safe. But with patience, kindness, and a steady routine, everything changed. The scared dog we met no longer exists. In his place is a confident, joyful boy whose personality shines brighter every day. Argo has blossomed into a devoted companion who walks beautifully on a leash, is learning obedience, and is making great progress with crate training. He has a medium energy level and loves his daily walks and playtime. He is potty trained, has good recall when off leash, and most of all, he wants nothing more than to be someone’s loyal best friend. Argo’s journey is a reminder of what love and stability can do. He is ready for a forever home where he can continue to thrive — and give back every ounce of love he’s been waiting to share. To schedule a meet and greet with Argo, please call the HRAS main line at 831-769-8850.
