Ares's Story
Ares is a 3.5-year-old chocolate Labrador Retriever with a big heart and a love for his people. He’s a sweet, affectionate boy who absolutely adores cuddling and being close to his humans — and his eagerness to please makes him a truly rewarding companion. Ares came from a home where he didn’t have much structure or guidance, which left him feeling unsure in new situations and around unfamiliar people. Since then, he has been working closely with a professional trainer and has made incredible progress. With proper leadership and consistency, Ares shines. He’s very treat-motivated, e-collar trained, and thrives on routine, clear expectations, and ongoing engagement.

Ares is looking for a home that understands the importance of maintaining structure and is committed to continuing his training journey. In the right environment, he is a loyal, loving dog who will bond deeply with his family.

Ideal Home for Ares:
• Committed to structure and continued training
• Only dog, or with a calm, respectful canine companion
• Someone who enjoys engagement and working with their dog

To help set everyone up for success, Ares will go home with two training lessons from APEX K9 Solutions, the team who has been guiding his progress.

If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate dog who just needs the right leadership to thrive, Ares might be your perfect match.

For additional information about Ares please email Ann Hilchey: ann.hilchey@labs4rescue.org

Ares is being fostered in Connecticut.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We receive many questions about our adoption process from potential adopters, most of which can be answered by viewing our "Adopt a Lab" page on our full service website, (https://labs4rescue.com/adopt).
