Archie (was Archer)'s Story

Archie is a 1-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and loyalty. He's ready to discover what it truly means to have a forever family of his own. Archie weights 60 lbs.

When Archie first arrived at his foster home, he was understandably a little nervous. With patience and kindness, he began to open up — and once he did, his sweet personality really started to shine. He can be a bit shy or standoffish when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and settles in with gentle reassurance.

Archie is potty trained and does wonderfully in his crate. He's currently participating in 10 weeks of training, where he's learning his basic commands along with a few extra skills to help him become the very best companion he can be. He's a smart boy who is eager to learn and thrives with positive guidance.

He absolutely loves pets — especially a good butt scratch! If he wants attention, he'll give you the cutest side-eye, bounce around excitedly, and gently boop you to remind you that it's time for more love.

Archie will be ready to join his forever family on March 20th. He's looking for a patient, understanding home that will continue building his confidence and showing him that the world is a safe and happy place. In return, he'll give you unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a best friend for life.

Archie is neutered and UTD on all their vaccines, HW, FT, and have a microchip of their own. RPSM recommends children 6 years and older. Archie will require a fenced in yard, either physical or underground. If you are interested in adopting Archie, please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application. Archie's adoption fee is $300.

Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan's Adoption Policy
RPSM Adoption Process Fill out the online Adoption Application at www.rpsm.org Once RPSM receives your application, we will contact your references, including your veterinarian(s). Please inform them that an RPSM volunteer will be calling them so that we are able to reach them in a timely fashion. An RPSM volunteer will contact you to schedule a 30-60 minute home visit to meet you and your family. (RPSM requires that all members of your household MUST be present for the entirety of the home visit.) The RPSM Board of Directors will then review your application, reference information, and home visit report in order to determine if you and your family are a good fit for the requested dog. An RPSM volunteer will contact you to notify you if you are approved or denied. If your adopted dog is still in the Prison Program, you have the option of receiving weekly reports regarding his/her progress via e-mail. Once your adopted dog is paroled or if your dog is not enrolled in the Prison Program, an RPSM volunteer will schedule a date to meet your dog. If the meeting proceeds smoothly, you will be able to take your new family member home that day, after the adoption paperwork is complete. Enjoy your new life and adventure together! Each adopter receives an adoption kit, which includes all medical paper work, helpful hints on how to help your new pet adjust to his/her new environment, coupons, and if applicable; training commands, signals and a letter from the trainer about your new best friend. **RPSM cannot be 100% certain of a particular breed of any dog on our site, it is the best guess at a predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
