Archie Maltese & Yorkshire Terrier Mix High Point, NC

Archie is a super adorable 5 yr old who is a tiny 6 and a half pounds. He seems to be a Maltese/Yorkie mix and low shedding. He will need routine grooming and haircuts.

We rescued him along with two other sweet little dogs from an elderly woman who was terminally ill. There were both dogs and cats in the home, all loved but recently neglected due to the owners illness. Archie had long, matted, dirty fur and so he has just been freshly groomed and looks incredibly cute!!

Archie recently had and has recovered from surgery to correct a rectal hernia that he may have suffered with since birth. He may have further complications in the future and needs a new owner who is okay with possible complications or medical bills in future years. Believe us, he is worth it! He poops 3 times a day and is continent, a little slow to poop.

We will require that applicants for Archie are experienced doggie people (no first time owners please) and we require any children in his new home be over 8 years old and respectful of teeny, tiny pups.

Archie is a very special boy who has been through a lot. He is looking for a fresh start with lots of love and TLC.

He is enjoying being in a loving foster family and would love to be a constant companion to someone who has flexibility to be at home with him.

Archie is very affectionate and cuddly and gives the sweetest kisses (getting a dental cleaning April 23). He loves lap time or perching on the sofa back behind your head. Beside you works for him, too!

He rides well in the car and walks nicely on the leash. He is friendly to new people.

Loves to hang out in pajamas and he sure does look cute in them! Archie kind of specializes in enjoying being pampered for a change.

He is good with both dogs and cats. He would enjoy a nice little dog to hang out with in his new home.

Archie is working on his potty training and is currently wearing belly band in his foster home to prevent accidents. His new family will need to patiently work with him on housetraining, understanding that in his old home the dogs did not get let out properly. Scheduled potty breaks will be very important so he understands the new routine.

He does keep his kennel tidy, no accidents, and he sleeps in his kennel at his foster home. However, Archie would certainly be delighted to sleep in the big bed with his new person.

He is truly and adorable little guy who will make his new owners very happy.

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.
