Archer's Story

Archer is a 1-year-old Chihuahua mix with expressive eyes, a thoughtful little face, and a personality that unfolds like a slow-burn love story. He’s not the type to rush into anything — new people, new places, new routines — Archer prefers to take his time, observe, and decide when he’s ready. And that’s exactly when the magic happens.

Once Archer feels safe and settled, he blossoms into an incredibly loving, loyal best friend. He’s a world-class snuggler who adores curling up with his people and soaking in quiet affection. When he chooses you, you’ll know — and it’s pretty special.

Archer would do well with another dog, ideally one who understands that size does not equal authority. He can have a bit of a “Napoleon” streak and appreciates a canine companion who is patient, respectful, and not easily offended by a tiny boss with big feelings.

Archer’s ideal home:
• A calm, patient adopter who lets him decompress at his own pace
• Someone who respects his boundaries and celebrates his progress
• Bonus points for a gentle, dog-savvy canine sibling
• A home that values trust-building and cozy cuddle time
Archer isn’t an instant best friend — he’s a forever one. If you’re willing to give him time, understanding, and space to come out of his shell, he’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless snuggles, and a heart that’s 100% yours.

House of Hope Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
House of Hope Animal Rescue is foster-based. We are not a shelter and do not own a kennel where our dogs are kept. All of our dogs are in foster homes. Once your application is approved, your adoption coordinator will assist you in scheduling a date and time to meet dogs you are interested in at their foster homes. You must be willing to travel to the foster homes to meet potential dogs. Thanks for your understanding. APPLICATION PROCESS All potential adopters are required to complete an adoption application. That can be done online or you can download and complete then mail or email it to us. Once your application is received, we’ll call your references, including your Veterinarian. All of your pets must be current on vaccines and on preventatives.? Once all references are checked, we will get in touch with you to schedule a phone interview to go over your application and our adoption procedures. You may be contacted via email, so please keep an eye on your inbox, junk, and spam folders. Please know that we will reach out to you as soon as possible, but it can take up to 14 days depending on the volume of applications we are receiving. Please be patient with us.? After the phone interview we will set up a time for one of our volunteers to conduct a home visit. This is to ensure that your home is a safe environment for a dog and is the final step in the approval process.? Once your application is approved, you are ready to begin meeting dogs! Because we want each dog to go to the right forever home, it is not guaranteed that you will be approved for the dog for which you applied. In this case, we will work with you so that the right match is made for everyone involved. House of Hope spends a lot of time getting to know each dog so they can be placed with a family they are appropriate for as well as a family that is appropriate for them.?
