Apple Jacks's Story

Location- Appleton WI

Adoption Fee- $400

Let me introduce myself. My name is Apple Jacks. I will be 8 months on Feb 5th. I'm a big boy already weighing around 62 pounds. My fosters did a DNA test. I don't know how big I will be. I came to Wisconsin around 5 months old very timid, scared, overwhelmed and unsure of the world.

Let me tell you how much I have progressed since my current fosters let me go at my own pace. It had taken me a week or two to gain confidence to ask for some pets from my humans. Once I realized I was safe and comfortable I now love to snuggle, play, chew on my bones and will happily be your lap dog.

I currently live with 3 teenagers ( so older kid home or no kids) and 2 female dogs. I have a laid back chill kind of personality. If my two foster sisters don't feel like romping I happily play by myself or find a comfy spot and take a nap.

Inside the house is where I'm the most confident. I sit by the door when I need to go potty. I'm learning to come when called. Sometimes I'm treat motivated, especially when you have beef liver treats. When I'm feeling overwhelmed or need to decompress I find my own spot and my humans know to let me be. I am not kept in a kennel as that created more stress and accidents when the fosters approached to open the door. I sleep next to my sister's or near one of my humans at night.

I am terrified of the outside world. Especially during the day time with all the noises, horns, cars, trucks, etc. I am slowly staying outside longer. Learning car rides are okay. I do have to tell you putting on and off my collar, harness, and leash scares me I sometimes pee a little.

What I need in a forever family is time, time, and more time. Patience and slow introductions, and please allow me to set the pace. I will be your loving companion for life
