Apollo's Story

Apollo is a graduate of our dog training program at Northeastern New Mexico Correctional Facility. His handler writes:<br/>"Apollo likes waking up to being scratched all over - especially his sides and haunches. He enjoys ear rubs all the time. He is very strong and energetic! He is a very cautious creature, meaning aware of his surroundings. He likes to see how everything smells. He does not like loud, sudden noises or to be run up on by people. He loves playing fetch and tug and enjoys chewing things like his rope, ball, and bones. His favorite snack is Cheetos. He gets along with other dogs well. He shies away from aggressiveness. He loves hugs and closeness but doesn't like being helled at. He is stubborn but very, very smart. He listens well but will test his limits.<br/>"All around, he is a wonderful, loving animal who is eager to please. He does not like the uniform of the officer or dog catcher. He loves baths. All adoption fees include spay/neuter, all shots up to adoption date, and lifetime microchip registration. <br/>All medium or large dogs will be adopted to homes with at least a 5 ft secure fence. All adopted dogs are eligible for free beginner basic training to help transition to their furever homes go as smoothly as possible.
