Apollo's Story

Meet Apollo, our very special Shepherd boy. Apollo is an owner surrender due to living situation, as well as an abandoned dog. Due to this instable upbringing Apollo needs some help in building trust, leash manners, and overall training. He is high anxiety and will require lots of time to settle and adjust to his new surroundings, he done an okay job at meeting new people though he will pick and choose his favorites. Apollo has leash reactivity and that can make meeting dogs very difficult, he once met a very sweet mild mannered female puppy here and that went okay but since hasn't found another friend.

Apollo can be a very vocal dog, he will bark, whine, and do some very classic shepherd yapping. He goes on walks to Sorosis park with his favorite volunteer who reports that he does great, he can get a little protective but since he learned sit and calm, he's done great letting his volunteer have conversations about him. Apollo was once said to live in a household with an older child and other dogs but due to his anxiety and reactivity we aren't quite sure what he is comfortable or up for these days, the shelter noise and chaos seems to block all coherent thoughts from his mind.

Apollo would love to meet you, he needs lots of care and attention but this guy has so much potential to be the best friend you could ever ask for. He is incredibly smart, loyal, and would be an amazing project dog.

Fill out an application at: https://www.columbiagorgehs.org/adopt.html

(All animals adopted out of CGHS are spayed/neutered, up to date on annual vaccines including rabies, and microchipped)
