Apollo's Story

Hi! My name is Apollo! I'm a 3-year old male tricolor beagle. I'm a happy, independent little whippersnapper! I've got tons of energy! I can easily climb a chain link fence & get over it. So if I go to a home with a fenced yard, it needs to be something I can't climb over - or go under! I'm learning how to walk on a leash at Nittany Beagle Rescue. I think I'll catch on pretty quick! I've been around children who are 7 and 11 years old now & I'm good with them. I'm dominant with other dogs. I would be happiest if I was the only dog! I would just LOVE the one-on-one attention with my people! Nittany Beagle Rescue isn't sure how I would be with cats. Of course, I need to be in a securely fenced in yard or on-leash at all times when outside since I'll take off - as will most beagles! :) And I can be pretty vocal when I want to be LOL I will need work on housetraining & house manners since that will be new to me! But Nittany Beagle Rescue can provide some guidance on housetraining an adult dog. So I just need a loving, patient person to give me a forever home! I should be crate trained since I'm used to traveling in a crate. I'm up-to-date on vaccines & neutered! So I'm ready for my forever home! I weigh about 20 lbs. - but I could gain a couple of lbs. Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
