Anya's Story

Name: Anya
Sex: Spayed Female
Age: 5 years
Breed: Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua Mix
Weight: 11 pounds
Adoption fee: $300 (altered, vaccines up to date, chipped, vet checked)
Location: In Foster: fill out an application at: https://azsmalldog.org/adoption-form/

Compatibility with other dogs: Good, Intro Required
Compatibility with cats: Unknown
Compatibility with kids: Unknown, Intro Required
Energy level: Moderate

Requirements: Meet whole family, dog intro, patient and loving family

Anya is a very gentle, affectionate, and quiet girl who is the perfect companion. She loves to be close by to her humans, and will want to sleep in your bed and snuggle in the morning (she gives kisses too). She's happy to lounge and sleep for most of the day, but don't be fooled, when she's ready for a walk her long legs and curiosity have her energized and fast on the move! She had a tough time before coming to our foster care and has some fear about being left alone, but it's getting better. She would be best suited in a home where she won't be left alone for long periods of time; at least not to start. She is housebroken and has been happy with two walks per day. She is also socialized and does fine in public settings and crowds. However, she gets a little protective of her owner and we found it's best to introduce her to new friends outside in a neutral zone first, but she's quick to warm up. She's not aggressive but will growl if she's scared. She's alert, receptive and a fast learner when it comes to new directions. Anya is ready to give her new family a ton of love!
