Anya's Story

A Dash of Sass and a Whole Lot of Love

Anya is three years old, about 45 pounds, and has mastered the art of being exactly where she’s wanted. She’s a Terrier/Lab mix with a big heart, a playful spark, and a deep appreciation for being right next to her person — preferably touching, ideally receiving pets.

She is wonderfully potty trained, an absolute angel in the crate, and has excellent house manners. Anya knows how to settle in and fit naturally into a home, like she’s been doing it forever. She’s the kind of dog who makes everyday life feel easier just by being part of it.

Anya is a people dog through and through. She loves attention, connection, and being included — whether that’s hanging out on the couch, moving from room to room, or simply sharing space. She’s affectionate without being demanding and has that steady, loving “I’m happy to be wherever you are” energy.

Anya is dog friendly and tends to take her cues from the dogs around her. She’s a bit of a social chameleon, matching the energy of her canine companions — calm with calmer dogs, more playful with dogs who want to engage. That said, she doesn’t need dog friends to feel fulfilled and would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all the love from her person.

Outside, she enjoys a little fun — the water hose is her personal form of entertainment, and she will absolutely not tolerate a frog acting suspiciously in her yard. Overall, she’s more go-with-the-flow than high-energy and is just as content lounging as she is enjoying a bit of play.

Anya came from a Texas shelter where she raised eleven puppies, which means she’s already done the hard work. Now it’s her turn to be spoiled. She’s spayed, fully vetted, and ready for a home that appreciates an affectionate, steady companion with just the right amount of personality.

If you’re looking for a dog who feels less like a project and more like a partner, Anya might just be your girl.

See videos of Anya here:
https://youtu.be/THXq_12TTVQ?si=4X3_mCObesiBuq21

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://petsave.formstack.com/forms/petsave_adoption_application

+++++++

Anya is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to her forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week.

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
