Antler's Story

Antler is looking for a very specific forever home, please read her bio entirely before applying.

Antler

Spayed female

German shepherd / malinois mix

40 lbs

Antler arrived to us from a Texas shelter where she spent 45+ days. Antler is a very kind hearted, witty, smart dog, who is eager to please. She is very food motivated. Antler becomes very overstimulated very quickly, and requires a calm, patient, owner who is willing to work with her and provide her safe outlets. Antler becomes very reactive when she is frustrated and does not know how to process through her feelings, she needs an owner willing to teach her and provide outlets to expel this frustration.

She is dog friendly with proper introductions, and with proper supervision. Antler is learning all about toys, and bones. Antler is working on perfecting her leash manners and her overall manners. She is jumpy when excited, and is not recommended to live with kids under 10 years old. Antler does require a fenced yard at this time. She is good in the car, and is good for the vet, she allows all handling, and is not leary with strangers.

Antler requires a forever home with an experienced owner, who is willing to enroll her in training, and work with her as she continues to settle into a home environment and daily life outside of the shelter. Antler can go to a home with or without other dogs but cannot live with toy size dogs, no cats, and no alpha dogs. Antler is crate trained (no accidents in her crate), her crate is covered with a blanket to help minimize stimualtion.

Applications for adoption can be completed on our website: allieandpalsrescue.org/adopt

Antlers adoption fee is $600.
