But despite it all, he’s still sweet, loving, and eager to trust the right person. He just needs someone who truly understands hounds—their independent streak, their goofy personalities, and their boundless love for the outdoors.<br/> <br/>This beautiful boy is a true head-turner, a textbook hound through and through. He’s always ready for an adventure, whether it’s a long hike, a day of sniffing around, or just soaking in the sights and sounds of nature. Though he still has a bit of a wild side, he’s working hard on his house manners and getting better with potty training every day. He’s also learning the joy of play and discovering how much fun life can be.<br/> <br/>Antler seems to get along well with other dogs and has that classic pack-dog nature. He’s independent yet social, strong-willed yet affectionate. With patience, consistency, and a little understanding, he’ll become the most devoted and loving companion. We always recommend supervising children around dogs/puppies at all times<br/><br/>---<br/><br/>We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches.<br/><br/>Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $500 which covers the costs of vetting (spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventatives while in our care, deworming and microchip) and any boarding or transport fees incurred in each dog's rescue. Senior dogs are $250.

Lighthouse Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches. Visitors at our shelter are by appointment only and are limited to those who have submitted applications. 1. Submit Application: https://www.lighthouseanimalshelter.org/application-instructions 2. Volunteers review your application. 3. After review, you will be contacted to set up an appointment. 4. Home Check: Some pets require a home visit. In some cases, a home visit is not required. It depends on factors such as fencing, children, & other pets. 5. Sign Adoption Contract: You will receive all medical paperwork, a new leash and collar, and food your new pet is used to eating.
