ANNIE's Story

Annie is an island potcake puppy from St. Lucia who has an incredible opportunity to come to NY this spring. A potcake is the nickname given to street dogs that belong to not one particular breed. They come from a long line of breeding due to a rampant dog-overpopulation problem and low spay and neuter resources on the island.

Annie was likely born some time in November. We don't really know what her life was like prior to being rescued, but we gather that it wasn't great. In early February, Annie and two of her littermates were reportedly thrown off a cliff in the town of Anse La Raye. Annie was injured in the process but she and her sister Rain managed to make it back up. We do not know what happened to the third pup.

To see footage of when they were rescued just after this harrowing ordeal, check out our Instagram page: @beastlyrescue.

Annie has been taken to the vet to get all her necessary shots and her leg has been given the "all clear." She will be spayed before arriving in the U.S. Annie is now learning how to dog with her sister Rain in our rescue partner's home in St. Lucia.

If interested in adopting Annie, be ready to welcome her into your home on either 3/28 or 3/29.
