Annie's Story

Annie 5-year-old female chocolate Lab (mix?) 90-lbs Spayed

Background.
Annie is not handling the arrival of new human baby very well. Her family has decided it best for Annie to be rehomed to a family to reduce her stress and allow her to thrive without the presence of an infant.

Annie running on the beach -- https://youtube.com/shorts/UtMZqs8Hg_8

Annie running crazy -- https://youtube.com/shorts/MpUgMIhhX2A

What Annie's current owner says.
It’s with a heavy heart that we’re looking to rehome our beloved chocolate Lab, Annie. She’s a 90-pound, lovable, lazy furball who lives for carrots and long naps. Unfortunately, she hasn’t adjusted well to our new baby, and we want to make sure she ends up in a home where she can feel completely comfortable and happy.

Annie is house trained, knows all the basic commands, and can even roll over and play “bang.” She does have seasonal allergies, and she isn’t friendly with other dogs, so we’re hoping to find an adult-only household where she can be the only pet. She’s incredibly sweet and loyal, she even saved my life once by keeping me from walking outside when someone was hiding outside my door waiting for me to exit. She has a huge heart and so much love to give.

Annie is a pretty laid-back dog. Not a very social dog. Annie can be reactive to other dogs; not aggressive, but just avoidant. She would do best in a home without other dogs. Loves the play and wrestle with our other black Lab. Annie is fine with older children.

What our evaluator says.
A very well-behaved dog. Nice soft mouth when taking treats. Somewhat averse to multi-dog situations. Not a dog park dog. No resource-guarding.

What Annie's Rescue Rep says.
A wonderful middle-aged chunk of chocolate bliss. Deserves lots of exercise and human time. Might be okay in a home with an existing calm dog... so long introductions and assimilation are done slowly and carefully. No idea how Annie is with cats.

Medical.
Spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Tsking heartworm preventive. Currently dealing with an ear infection.

Annie is located in: Fairfield.

If you want to adopt Annie, contact Rescue Rep Dave at david.c.ely@sbcglobal.net
