She was found in Lucerne Valley as part of a colony of stray dogs, and it's clear she hasn’t had much experience with human kindness, until now. Since coming into our care, Anna has been slowly but surely learning to trust, and she’s beginning to warm up to the idea that people can be safe, loving, and good. She is still a puppy, but we think she will be about 50 pounds full grown.<br/><br/>Quiet, gentle, and deeply curious, Anna prefers to observe the world around her before jumping in. But once she feels safe, her true personality begins to peek through. She absolutely loves other dogs and finds comfort and confidence in their presence. She’s even gentle and so sweet with the litter of foster baby puppies in her home! For that reason, she’ll thrive in a home with a friendly, confident dog who can show her the ropes and help her continue to come out of her shell.<br/><br/>Anna is potty trained and learning boundaries of living in a home. She is still working on her confidence but is showing her funny quirks! She loves to “borrow” shoes just to carry them around and has started to “talk” to us when she’s feeling playful! She hasn’t gotten used to human affection, but she likes to sniff faces and sometimes will even give a gentle lick! <br/><br/>Anna is looking for a calm, patient home that will give her the time and space she needs to grow.
