ANIMAL $275's Story
Meet Animal!

Animal is a 7-year-old, 55-pound pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s currently living with six foster brothers and sisters, ranging from a tiny 7 pounds to a whopping 130 pounds—and he’s doing great with dogs of all sizes. He truly enjoys being part of the pack and has fit right in with the group.

True to his name, Animal has an enthusiastic side, but what he loves most is simply being near his people. He happily follows his humans from room to room, keeping an eye on whatever you’re doing and making sure he’s part of the action.

Animal is also a big fan of yard adventures. Exploring outside is one of his favorite activities, and he’s been doing great with pottying outdoors.

When it comes to mealtime, Animal is very interested in food—mostly because he likes being involved! He’s not food aggressive, but he does enjoy being close to the action and might happily volunteer to sample everyone’s dinner, so feeding separately may help keep things calm.

Animal has done well when gated in a room for short periods. He may give a brief protest at first (just to let you know he’d prefer to be with you), but he settles down nicely.

At night, Animal is something of a dog-bed connoisseur. He’s perfectly happy sleeping on the floor in a cozy dog bed and seems to believe the more comfortable the bed, the better.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys being part of the family, gets along with other dogs, and loves both relaxing near his people and exploring the yard, Animal might just be your perfect match.

Animal is ready to find his forever band—could your home be his stage?

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs. Thank you for considering Lucky Mutts Rescue for your next furry family member!
