Angus's Story
Angus is a 1-year-old, 50 lb German Shepherd / Pit Bull mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for life.

Angus was rescued minutes before he was scheduled to be euthanized at Riverside Shelter, where he had entered up as a stray. Despite such a rough start, Angus has remained incredibly sweet, loving, and eager to connect with people.

He’s a smart, athletic young dog who loves to stay active and learn new things. One of his favorite activities in the world is playing fetch, and he would make an amazing running partner, hiking buddy, or adventure companion for someone who enjoys being outdoors.

Angus is also dog-friendly and enjoys playing with other dogs. He could do great as an additional dog in a home with a friendly playmate, or he would also be happy soaking up all the attention as the only dog.

At just one year old, Angus is still learning and growing, and he’s doing great. He is potty trained and crate trained, and he’s currently working on polishing his leash skills. Because he’s a young, intelligent dog, he will thrive in a home that provides clear structure, guidance, and continued training.

Angus is very sweet and affectionate with people and would likely do well with kids, but like many young dogs, he can get a little jumpy when he’s excited. Because of this, he would do best in a home that can continue helping him practice polite greetings, or with older kids who are comfortable around a playful young dog.

With the right home, Angus has all the ingredients to grow into an incredible lifelong companion — loyal, loving, playful, and always ready for the next adventure.
