Angelica's Story

Meet Angelica, a tiny teacup senior Poodle mix weighing just 4 pounds (yes, that’s right—4 pounds!). She is blind and hearing impaired, yet her spirit is nothing short of remarkable.

Angelica was found as a stray in a rural area after she wandered into someone’s backyard on Thanksgiving Day—a true testament to her incredible will to survive. Despite being so small and elderly, she somehow managed to get herself to safety. Thanks to a compassionate good Samaritan and one of our rescue partners who reached out for help, Angelica is now safe with us and ready to find a loving home to spend her golden years.

We are incredibly thankful that Angelica is in a loving foster home, where she recently underwent major dental surgery. Her mouth was extremely painful, but now that this is behind her, she will be much more comfortable and able to enjoy life again.

Please read what her foster mom has shared below to learn more about Angelica and the type of home that would be the perfect fit for this precious girl.

“Angelica, while we don’t know her exact age, what we do know is that she is one of the sweetest souls you will ever meet.

Angelica is searching for a quiet, loving home where she can spend her golden years wrapped in blankets, enjoying endless belly rubs and plenty of snuggles in her humans' arms.

She would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day, as she thrives on gentle companionship.

She is house trained, though she does require multiple outdoor potty breaks each day. Due to her blindness Angelica prefers to stay cozy on her dog bed rather than roam the house. She will also need assistance finding her water bowl and navigating her daily routine.

This precious girl recently had all of her teeth extracted, so she will need soft food served multiple times a day going forward. She will also require routine grooming and brushing to keep her skin and coat healthy.

Due to her very small size and senior status, Angelica’s ideal home is calm and quiet. She may do well with small, respectful pet siblings who understand that she mostly just wants to sleep and feel safe.”

Angelica may be tiny, but her heart is enormous—and she’s ready to give all her love to someone special.
